We're currently seeking an experienced Loan Pre-Closing Specialist to join our team.
 
Location: Plaquemine, LA 
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
 
Position Overview
As a Loan Pre-Closing Specialist at Citizens Bank, you'll play a pivotal role in our lending operations. You'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth origination and servicing of loans, adhering to bank policies and compliance regulations. If you're detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough pre-closing reviews of loan packages to ensure all documents are accurate, complete, and in compliance with regulations — including verifying hazard and flood insurance coverage when applicable.
  • Collaborate with Loan Officers to address processing and documentation issues.
  • Coordinate with settlement agents to approve and finalize closing documentation and funding.
  • Process TRID disclosures and manage loan term changes, denials, and related actions.
  • Request residential appraisals and oversee the appraisal request system.
  • Image and index loan documentation to maintain accessible records.
  • Perform daily loan maintenance tasks such as payment processing and loan extensions.
  • Provide prompt support to Loan Officers, bank employees, and customers.
  • Handle returned checks and manage credit and collateral files.
  • Support the Loan Department Supervisor in a variety of departmental functions.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions to stay current on regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in loan processing with a solid understanding of lending regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn job-related software; experience with Laser Pro is a plus.
