Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lending Intern to support our lending team during the summer. This is a learning-focused position designed to give students real-world exposure to lending operations, financial analysis, and customer service in a banking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with organizing and maintaining loan files and documentation
- Review loan packets for completeness and accuracy
- Help prepare follow-up communications with customers regarding missing documents
- Support the lending team with research, data entry, and administrative tasks
- Observe loan officer meetings, loan closings, and credit discussions
- Assist with compiling financial information or reports for loan reviews
- Participate in department meetings and learning sessions
- Complete a final presentation or project summarizing internship experience
Learning Objectives:
- Gain hands-on experience with lending documentation, procedures, and compliance
- Learn how banks evaluate creditworthiness and manage risk
- Build professional communication and teamwork skills
- Understand the role of community banks in supporting individuals and small businesses
Qualifications:
- Currently a college student in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related fields
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to think and work independently within a professional setting
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Flexibility to work within a multi-discipline team
- Professional demeanor and willingness to learn
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Internship Duration:
May 18th through July 31st
